LEIDUNGR is a Nordic Ritual Folk project. The latest album "Nordiska Hymner" is released by Trutzburg Thule 2017. The lyrical concept of "Nordiska Hymner" is a philosophical presentation of ancient myths and spirituality of northern Europe.

Step into the realms of LEIDUNGR once again in a mindset of meditation and embrace the heritage granted to those who possess the necessary traits by ancient forces and currents, made into something sinister through the passage of time.

The debut album, “De Nio Kraftsångerna”, was released by Equilibrium Music 2013

Crafted by weaving ritual elements into traditional folk, LEIDUNGR‘s mesmerizing work is also imbued with an indelible martial aura which reinforces the underlying heroic mood summoned on these recordings. The potent and evocative combination, which spreads across various genres, often re-creating their common formats, allows LEIDUNGR to carve their unique brand of Nordic Ritual Folk – a term which perfectly defines the genuine atmosphere of their long awaited debut album.

Although its inception can arguably be traced back to ARDITI‘s “Statues of Gods” release (10” EP 2009, Equilibrium Music), LEIDUNGR quickly grew into a unique separate entity. Visual assistance was found in Freki Wodenswolf, a talented artist known his unique handcrafted creations, made from natural materials as leather, wood, horn, bone and metal. Perfectly in tune with the project’s inspiration and Nordic roots, Freki has provided much of the artwork that accompanies LEIDUNGR‘s outputs. The band made their debut via the limited edition “Hell Eder Asar” 7″ EP, released on Fronte Nordico in 2011, which quickly started to build anticipation surrounding the release of a full album. “De Nio Kraftsångerna” is the name of the debut album, released in February 2013 via Equilibrium Music on matt varnished Digipak CD with copper printing. 

Second album "Nordiska Hymner" was released 2017 by Trutzburg Thule. The lyrical concept of "Nordiska Hymner" is a philosophical presentation of ancient myths and spirituality of northern Europe.

LEIDUNGR represent the few but strong, those never enslaved by any way of inferior thoughts.

Midgaard Band

Founders: Ragnar - guitar and Semund - bass. The intention and purpose of the musicians has always been to try to catch the atmosphere and the feeling of Norse mythology, combined with the intensity of the northern folk themes mixed with the metal. Title "Midgaard" was taken from Norse mythology, Midgard - a Midlands - housing people. Was created by Odin and his brothers from the bodies of the giant Ymir. Sparks and embers from Muspell were installed in mid-Ginnungagap to give light to Midgard. They became stars, pointing the way ...

History and discography of the group:

The first concert was on September 9, 2006. It's was Viking Metal, based on ancient Scandinavian myths.

In 2007 recorded the first demo-album 'Midgardr'. In connection with the permutations of 2007, the band begins to play in the style of Nordic Folk.

The outcome of the concert and creative activity in 2008 is recorded the second demo-album, 'Beginning The Times', and in 2009 - an acoustic studio album, 'Beginning The Times'.

June 16, 2010 at Nymphaea records published split CD.

May 23, 2010 a presentation metal program "The Northern True Story '.

With the second album ”Koder på snor” (2009), Valravn took new steps towards an even more personal music, which is true to its Nordic roots but is equally a child of the present and the future.

Wind Rose

WIND ROSE is a Symphonic Metal Band born in Italy in 2009.

In 2010 the band released an EP under the production of Cristiano Bertocchi (ex-LABYRINTH, ex-VISION DIVINE) earning a lot of good reviews.

In 2012 Wind Rose released their first full-length "Shadows Over Lothadruin" via Scarlet/Bakerteam Records again earning a lot of excellent reviews.

In 2013 they had a promotional tour in Europe: directly supporting WINTERSUN, FINNTROLL and EPICA.

In 2014 CRISTIANO BERTOCCHI (ex-LABYRINTH, ex-VISION DIVINE) joined Wind Rose's line-up as the new bass player.

In 2015 they took part to the ELUVEITIE's Origins European Tour and their 2nd studio album "Wardens of the West Wind" was released by Scarlet Records.

In late 2015 Wind Rose supported Ensiferum during their "One Man Army" european tour.

In 2017 the band signed a deal with Inner Wound Recordings and their third album Stonehymn was released in May.

Forndom

Since it’s birth in 2012, Forndom has been a multi-project consisting of art and atmospheres from the ancient Sudermannia plains, filled with rune stones, mound hills and dark forests. With the sound of ambient choirs, folk melodies and lyrical themes consisting of Norse religion and folklore, the man behind the project, L. Swärd, takes us on a journey back in time when humanity lived far more close to nature and it’s gods. Forndom is more than just a simple art-project. It is also the philosophy of L.Swärd and how he looks upon the world. A world filled with melancholy for the lost connection with nature. But also hope for that we one day will find our lost wisdom.

Asynje

Experience an ambiance of Old Norse music, with five experienced musicians from the Danish music scene in the electronic folk project "Asynje".

Inspired by Scandinavian folk music, deep forests and ancient times, Asynje creates beautiful soundscapes and energetic dance numbers. It's the sound of mulch and Nordic urtone created with rarely seen instruments blend with contemporary electronic samples and Nanna Barslevs enchanting voice.

The lyrics are inspired by pagan roots and some lyrics are taken from nordic mythology and old wich spells.

Wardruna

Wardruna Biography 2013

Wardruna is a Norwegian music group founded by Einar Kvitrafn Selvik. In 2009 Wardruna enchanted their listeners with their mesmerizing debut album ‘gap var Ginnunga’, which also was the first part of a planned trilogy. In the ensuing years the group have spent a lot of time on adapting their music to a live format and establishing a live band. This resulting in a handful of very special concerts, perhaps most notably when they performed in front of the majestic 1100-year-old Gokstad ship at the Viking Ship Museum in Norway.

With the use of the oldest of Nordic instruments and poetic metres as well as lyrics written in Norwegian, Old Norse and Proto-Norse tongue, Wardruna is now, after nearly three years in the making, finally ready to return with the second album in the ‘Runaljod’ trilogy entitled ‘Yggdrasil’. Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Einar Kvitrafn Selvik has, together with vocalists Kristian Espedal (aka Gaahl) and Lindy-Fay Hella, managed to make a strikingly beautiful and intense continuation of what was started with their first album, but without falling into the trap of merely repeating themselves. ‘Yggdrasil’ is also graced with guest appearances by renowned Icelandic composer Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson and Iceland’s leading rímur singer Steindór Andersen.

The ongoing ‘Runaljod’ trilogy is a musical rendition of the 24 runes in what is often referred to as the elder futhark. Some of the recordings are done outdoors in places or under circumstances of significance to each rune. Wardruna primarily use old and historical instruments such as primitive deer-hide frame drums, Kraviklyra, tagelharpe, mouth harp, goat horn, lur and more. Non-traditional instruments and other sources of sound like trees, rocks, water and torches are also used.

All of these elements are carefully woven into a rich musical landscape and complemented with whispering voices, melodic song and mighty choirs. Although Wardruna’s music share characteristics with music typically labeled as folk, world and/or ambient, none of these genres can really describe their unique style. It truly must be experienced.
